PRINCIPAL

Lekhraj Birdy LLB (Hons)

Lekhraj Birdy was admitted as solicitor in October 1979.

He worked in a general practice before moving into the City where he gained experience in Commercial Litigation and Commercial Conveyancing. Since starting the practice Mr. Birdy has had extensive experience in Personal Injury, Commercial Conveyancing, Landlord & Tenant, Immigration, Family/Children’s matters. He is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel and of Resolution. Resolution was previously known as Solicitors Family Law Association. Both of these organisations recognise the specialism of their members in Family law.

Mr Birdy has for many years been providing voluntary legal services to number of voluntary organisations, particularly Temples, Gurudwaras and organisations dealing with domestic violence. He is also regularly involved in raising funds for charities.

Mr Birdy has been involved in high profile cases, some of which set precedents in law. The most famous one being the case of Memon –v– Manel in 2001 in Court of Appeal. He has also been involved in other cases which went to the Court of Appeal.

SOLICITORS

Deepa Popat LL.B. (Hons)

Ms Popat was admitted as a Solicitor in April 2003. She is a keen, hard working and valuable member of staff. She has been with this firm since April 2003. She has a heavy workload of Family matters, including Divorce, Ancillary Relief and Private and Public law Children matters. She also handles Personal Injury (including claims on behalf of minors) and general Civil Litigation matters. Ms Popat has been involved in high profile cases, some of which went to the Court of Appeal.

Ms Popat has been providing voluntary legal services to voluntary organisations that assist people from different backgrounds and who are unable to afford professional legal consultation. She is involved in various community work including organising fund raising for charities. She is also on the Harrow Panel of Independent Custody Visitors.

Farzana Naz LL.B (Hons)

Ms Naz was admitted as a Solicitor in April 2004. She is a keen, hard working and valuable member of staff. She completed her Training Contract with us and has remained with us since then.

Initially, Ms Naz dealt mainly with Immigration matters. She has been involved in dealing with all types of appeals in the Immigration matters. Since her admission as a Solicitor, Ms Naz has been dealing mainly with Family, Children, Immigration, and Civil Litigation matters.

PARALEGALS AND TRAINEES


Maunira Adam

Ms Adam is a Paralegal. She has worked as a paralegal since 2003. She has been with this firm since 2007. She is a valuable member of staff and has provided invaluable support to the whole team. She is part qualified Legal Executive and is pursuing studies with a view to completing the ILEX Course. She has been attending conferences and Court Hearings as well as assisting in the preparation of cases, particularly in Immigration, Conveyancing and Civil Litigation.
