Housing
We act for both private
landlords and tenants in respect of rented property. We also act
in disputes involving Council or Housing Association properties.
If you are homeless, then provided that
you meet the legal requirements, we will assist you in securing
accommodation through the Local Authority even though this may only
be for a short period.
We also handle cases involving possession
proceedings by Mortgagees, Local Authorities or Housing Associations.
If you have been unlawfully evicted or
are threatened with unlawful eviction, we will secure an order to
prevent your Landlord from unlawfully evicting you. Where you have
already been evicted, we would represent you to secure an order
that you be allowed to return to the property. You may also be entitled
to compensation.
If the property you live in is in a bad
state of repair or is affected by damp or other defect, we are able
to assist you in claiming damages or other remedy for disrepairs
of your rented accommodation.
If your Bank or Building Society are
seeking possession due to your not keeping up with your mortgage
payments, we advise or represent you at the hearing and would negotiate
with your lender for time to pay the arrears.
This is often easier than it seems where
you have no previous record of arrears.
